On Tuesday, Clayton Kershaw won the NL Cy Young-he needs to make room for one more award on his mantle.
Wednesday it was announced that the Dodger’s ace Clayton Kershaw won the National League Most Vauable Player Award, the first NL player since 1968 to win both awards. Kershaw recieved 18 of the 30 first place votes, beating Giancarlo Stanton and Andrew McCutchen in the process.Kershaw was dominate on the mound all year for the NL West Champions, and the scary thing is that he is only 26 years old. Kershaw on the year went 21-7 with a ERA of 1.77, both led the league in route to dominating the best hitters in the world. In football we have the Manning and Brady rivarly, and in baseball it is Madison Bumgarner of the San Fransico Giants and Clayton Kershaw; both pitchers will continue to dominate the league for years to come.
Whats next on Kershaw’s list? A World Series Championship, which Bumgardner currently ranks ahead of Kershaw. For the 26 year old to win that elusive championship, he must carry his regular season domination into the postseason.
