The Tennessee Titans have already played 3 different quarterbacks this season, therfore any quarterback prospect has to be examined by the coaching staff.
Is it possible the Titans future quarterback is starting for another team this season ?
In a recent report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, league sources have stated that Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer is drawing intrest from the Titans. Hoyer, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, has yet to sign a extension with his team. The Browns have a tough decsion to make at the end of this year, and Hoyer has not made the decision easy. It seemed a sure thing that Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel would be the quarterback to start the year for a rebuilding Browns team, but Hoyer has guided his team to a 6-4 record and are in the playoff hunt. The Titans have inserted rookie Zach Mettenburger in the lineup, to get a glimpse of what they have in the 6th round draft pick. Brian Hoyer was on the roster in Arizona when Whisenhunt was the head coach, and has the big arm that Whisenhunt needs for his offense.
I believe the Tians best bet is to hope things work out with Mettenburger, and draft a playmaker for a defense in desperate need of a game changer. We should know more about the quarterback situation after Monday, as the Titans play under the lights against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.
