On Thursday night in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, a 19-year old Swiss kid’s lifelong dream came true.
Less than a minute into this second NHL regular season game — and first in 2015-16 — Kevin Fiala beat the Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck to pot his first career goal.
It was a little anti-climactic as play continued and the sequence had to be reviewed but they all count the same at the end of the day. We know he’d probably give it back for a “W” but, regardless, congratulations to Nashville’s first round pick in 2014 on his first NHL marker.
The Preds would trail 4-1 in the third period but comeback to force overtime.
