After plaguing the Tennessee Titans for 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Titans’ fans were overjoyed to see freshly retired NFL legend Peyton Manning sign with the Denver Broncos in 2012.
In an emotionally charged press conference, Manning announced his retirement after 18 seasons in the league. In that time, Manning owned the Titans with a 14-6 overall record, 4,956 yards and 35 touchdowns against 13 interceptions.
Still, Titans’ controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk put out a statement via the team’s official website honoring Manning and his prolific career
Statement from Titans Controlling Owner Amy Adams Strunk on Peyton Manning:
“On behalf of the Tennessee Titans organization, I want to congratulate Peyton Manning on all of his accomplishments during his legendary career. Having faced Peyton 20 times in his career, every member of the Titans organization has profound respect and admiration for the way he played the game. Peyton exemplifies what it means to be a professional, and we appreciate the incredible impact he has made on the National Football League, the state of Tennessee, and the game of football as a whole. He has set a positive example for others to follow and is a great ambassador for our game, and we wish him and his family all the best in the future.”
Kind words from a longtime foe.
