Paul, Raby and Jones join the ranks of many other Commodores to achieve Freshman All-American status from various media outlets, bringing the tally to 19 total players since coach Tim Corbin’s reign in West End began in 2003.
The achievement of the young players may come as a welcome distraction after the program’s tumultuous and gut-wrenching past few days that centered around the death of freshman pitcher Donny Everett last week.
Everett, a former standout from Clarksville High, passed away in a drowning accident last Thursday night at a Coffee County lake before the Commodores were set to take on Washington in an NCAA Regional at Hawkins Field Friday.
Everett was laid to rest this Tuesday in Clarksville.
