According to Aldo Amato of The Daily News Journal, Middle Tennessee State University Men’s Basketball coach Kermit Davis reached terms on a contract extension Tuesday evening.

The length of the deal is being reported at eight years and $450,000 in annual salary. Davis’ existing arrangement would have kept him in Murfreesboro through 2019 and boasts a record of  276-175 in 14 seasons at MTSU.

The extension accompanies 2015-16’s 25-10 team that captured a Conference USA title and a season that culminated in a 90-81 NCAA Tournament victory, shocking No. 2 seed Michigan State and Hall of Fame coach Tom Izzo in the opening round. The No. 15 seed Blue Raiders would fall in the second round to Jim Boeheim’s Syracuse Orange.
