Alabama and Head Coach Nick Saban made some headlines this week when Saban announced he would not let former Crimson Tide DB Maurice Smith transfer to the University of Georgia. Smith, who will graduate from Alabama this week, will be allowed to transfer as long as it is not an SEC School.
Many people are being critical of Saban that one of the main reasons he’s not allowing Smith to transfer to UGA is because former Alabama Defensive Coordinator, Kirby Smart, is now the Head Coach in Athens. Saban claims it has always been their policy that players cannot transfer to other SEC institutions.
What do you think? Should Smith be allowed to transfer anywhere he wants? Is Saban out of line? Or is this whole thing being blow out of proportion just because it is Saban and Alabama? Paul Finebaum joined Mike and Mike on Friday to give his take on the situation.
