Garth Brooks, country music personified, has joined forces with the Southeastern Conference and CBS to help liven up College Football Saturdays just a little bit more.
Via Facebook Live on Wednesday, Brooks announced to his constituency that his new song, “Pure Adrenaline,” will open for CBS Sports’ “SEC Game of the Week.”
Based on the teams that will be highlighted, a customized version of the song’s lyrics with video accompaniment featuring the music icon Brooks, his band and the work of long-time collaborator Gordon Kennedy will lead into that particular “SEC Game of the Week” coverage. The “Pure Adrenaline” intro for the SEC on CBS will span the entirety of the 2016 college football regular season.
“If you tune in and see one Saturday, it’s not going to be the same footage you’re going to see the next Saturday,” Brooks said in a comment to The Tennessean. “When Arkansas is playing Alabama, you have to come up with something different than when LSU goes to Florida. It’s going to be good.”
“Pure Adrenaline” will be one of the tracks featured on Brooks’ upcoming record this Fall. The first “SEC Game of the Week” on CBS this season headlines with UCLA at Texas A&M on September 3rd.
