Two hat tricks. Two back-to-back games.
It was an incredible performance that laid the foundation for the NHL to award Predators’ star Filip Forsberg the First Star of the Week this morning.
Forsberg, the 22-year-old from Sweden, finished last week’s stretch of games tallying eight goals through four games. It was the highlight of a 3-0-1 homestand by the Predators, which included season sweeps of the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers, as well as a resounding victory over the top-ranked Washington Capitals. Nashville currently sits at 31-22-9 with 71 points, which is good for third place in the current Western Conference standings.
The Predators are on the road this week to face Buffalo and Montreal before coming back to Bridgestone Arena to face the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. The Nashville faithful hope to see more of the success that Forsberg is bringing to the team this season.
