NASHVILLE (January 17, 2019) – ESPN 94.9 Game 2 and Nashville Soccer Club have renewed their broadcast agreement for the 2019 season, once again securing ESPN 94.9 Game 2 as the official English-speaking flagship station for Nashville SC.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with Nashville SC,” said Cromwell Radio market manager Jana Hampton. “Nashville is a great sports town and we’re excited to offer our listeners exposure to their favorite teams. Soccer is growing in Music City and expanding our coverage enhances that growth and delivers on our daily promise of being Nashville’s Best Sports Talk.”
ESPN 94.9 Game 2 will carry at least 24 games of the 2019 season, starting Friday, February 22 with Nashville SC’s friendly match against Major League Soccer’s New York City FC at First Tennessee Park. Broadcasts will include 15-minute pregame and postgame shows. Wes Boling will return as the primary play-by-play voice; the broadcast team will also feature multiple noticeable names from the Nashville media market. Additional Nashville SC content will be featured on ESPN 102.5 The Game and TheGameNashville.com throughout the USL season.
“We are fortunate to have a radio partner in Cromwell Radio that is committed to the growth of soccer in Nashville,” Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre said. “With expanding coverage of Nashville Soccer Club in 2019, we are confident that 102.5 The Game and 94.9 Game 2 will continue to provide our fans first class programming throughout the season.”
