What were we thinking?
4 weeks ago the New England Patriots were dismantled on national TV by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs gained 443 yards of offense in route to a 41-14 blowout over Brady and Co. Speaking of Tom Brady, he struggled mightily in the game only throwing for 159 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions. The loss dropped the Patriots to 2-2 and everyone was thinking the same thing: Brady and the Pats are done.
Fast forward 4 weeks and its a much different story. Over the past month the Pats are 4-0 (6-2) on the season and Mr. Brady has thrown for 1268 yards and 14 touchdowns and no interceptions. Needless to say, reports of the Patriots demise were greatly exaggerated.
` Next week New England will host the Denver Broncos in what looks like could be an AFC Championship preview. The next few weeks will tell a lot about the Patriots as they play the Broncos, Colts, Lions, Packers and Chargers, all of which appear to be at least playoff contenders. Who knows how much longer the Patriots can keep their run going, but what we do know is that we should never count them out as long as Brady and the Hoodie are roaming the sidelines in New England.
