Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Now that the turkey is digesting everyone is preparing for the biggest shopping day of the year. So with black Friday mere hours away, lets take a look at what some Nashville teams are looking for this holiday season.
MTSU: Sun screen. MTSU became bowl eligible last week and early indications look like the Blue Raiders will be heading to the Bahamas Bowl. So while they might not get the recognition that their SEC counterparts do, they are enjoying a fair amount of success in Murfreesboro.
Vanderbilt: Gravity. The Commodores are 3-8 and coming off of a 51-0 beat down at the hands of Mississippi State. Vandy hosts Tennessee this Saturday at Vanderbilt Stadium with a chance to play spoiler for the Vols’ bowl eligibility hopes. Vanderbilt will try to employ their superior intellect to reenforce the gravitational pull at Vanderbilt Stadium in an attempt to keep Tennessee’s “Astro-Dobbs” grounded. While a win for Vandy seems a bit far fetched, crazier things have happened. But what the ‘Dores really want is to fast forward to baseball season.
Titans:A hot tub time machine. This is a win win. The current Titans get to soak away the pain of a disappointing season while the fans get to relive the glory days. What would be better for the Titans than to relax in a nice new hot tub…that happens to take them(and their fans) back to the early 2000’s?
Predators: Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” on iTunes. The Nashville Predators got their Christmas present a little early in the form of James Neal, Mike Ribeiro, and a healthy Pekka Rinne so far this season. Now Nashville sits atop the Central division and looks poised to make a playoff run. Unfortunately for the Preds, the NHL and ESPN seems set on focusing all of their attention on Pittsburgh and Chicago, despite Nashville receiving the NHL All Star Weekend in 2016. For now the Predators will keep their heads down and keep playing the underdog. But that role might be short lived for a team looking to make a lot of noise.
