Ottawa Senators prospect Francois Brassard is in his final season of junior hockey and he’s making the most of it.
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles goaltender was well on his way to a 7-5 victory over the mighty Quebec Remparts on Saturday night when he made a little history. With their net empty in the final minutes, the Remparts dumped the puck in and Brassard went to clear the puck himself. The safest play was to bank it off of the half-wall so that’s what he did. But, not only did it get by the defenseman at the blueline, it went all the way down the ice and into the empty net.
We only have one question. Eagles forward Clark Bishop couldn’t find time in his busy schedule to grab the puck for Brassard? He’s practically standing on top of it when it goes into the net. What gives?
