Monday night in Montreal, the Nashville Predators extended their road-game point streak to 8 games, a new franchise record, with a 2-1 shootout win against the Canadiens. It could have been decided in 3-on-3 overtime if it weren’t for Craig Smith stopping Craig Smith’s shot. (Wait, what?)
In the latter stages of overtime, Smith had a wide-open net to bury a feed from Mike Ribeiro. However, Smith’s stick got in the way of the puck on his follow through, resulting in this:

With the game tied 1-1 at the end of overtime, Smith had a chance to redeem himself in the final round of the shootout — and he did:
