Saturday night before the Predators took on the Detroit Red Wings, the team announced they had acquired former Pred, Vernon Fiddler, from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a fourth round pick.
Fiddler began his career with the Preds in 2002 as an undrafted free agent and played in the Music City until 2009 when he left for the Phoenix Coyotes. During his time in Smashville, “Fids” played over 300 games for the organization scoring 45 goals and adding 48 assists. After two seasons with the Coyotes he spent five seasons with the Dallas Stars until signing with New Jersey this season.
In all, Fiddler has 103 goals with 157 points in 857 NHL games played. He also caught the hat of Country Music legend, George Strait at a concert. Fids joined 3D on Monday and discussed his return to Smashville.
3D airs on weekdays at 10:00 AM and you can hear all of the Nashville Predators games on 102.5 the Game throughout the season.
