Starting at 6 PM, tune in to ESPN 94.9 Game Two for The Game Blitz to hear Mid-State experts Chase McCabe and Sudzo break down all the Friday Night action.
Only a handful of teams remain undefeated after week five’s action. Powerhouses like Blackman (5-0), Oakland (4-0), and Beech (5-0) remain in control of their own destiny. While Greenbrier (5-0) is a surprise on the scene as they lead 4A Region 5. The streak continues for Mount Juliet (5-0), the Bears shut out their fifth straight opponent last week and are outscoring their opponents 200-0 so far this season.
Week Six Slate
Oakland vs. Blackman
The game of the week is set in Rutherford County when Oakland travels to Blackman. Both squads are undefeated heading into this critical 6A Region 3 matchup. Star power will be on display Friday night, Blackman’s running back Master Teague is an Ohio State commit while Oakland has four-star recruit (per Rivals) Woodi Washington. The winner of this contest will be the early favorite to take home a state championship in Class 6A.
Page at Summit
Two non-traditional powers in Williamson County clash as Page (4-1) faces Summit (4-1). Both teams are tied for the top spot in 5A-5 before the matchup on Friday night. Page is flying high after their 36-0 win over Antioch last week. While Summit has won by at least two touchdowns in every game since their opening night loss to Spring Hill.
Marshall County vs. Pearl-Cohn
Two offenses averaging over 30 points per game meet when Marshall County travels to Nashville to play Pearl-Cohn. Pearl-Cohn looks to bounce back after losing to Cookeville last week. Marshall County will try to continue their fortunes after defeating Maplewood last week to remain tied for the 4A-4 region lead.
Gentle Giant Performer of the Week
