During Development Camp, I caught up with 2017 fifth round pick, Tomas Vomacka. The Nashville Predators prospect played with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL last season and is on his way to the University of Connecticut for the foreseeable future.
The Czech Republic native finished 2017-18 with a 24-19-0-0 record (tied for second most wins in the USHL), played in 44 games (fifth most), registered a 2.79 goals-against average (third best among goalies who played more than 38 games), notched a .903 save percentage (fifth best among those same goalies), flexed three shutouts (tied for fourth most) and rattled off eight straight wins between February 17 and March 15.
Not bad fora fifth round selection in his first season of tier 1 junior hockey.
How excited is he to get on campus? How did he think his USHL season went? What does he hope to get out of this week of Development Camp?
