Up two-games to nothing in a playoff series for the first time in franchise history, the Nashville Predators were flying high after those two back-to-back home wins over the Anaheim Ducks.
Now, after losing three consecutive postseason match-ups Nashville finds themselves facing a potential elimination in front of the home crowd Monday night. In years past, the Preds are 0-8 when losing three of the first five games in a postseason series, via ESPN.com.
So far, there is little that foreshadows in the Predator’s favor.
“We had the most looks and the most chances, but there’s not a lot of room out there,” Nashville coach Peter Laviolette told the media following Saturday’s loss. “After Game 1, they really clamped down.”
In this year’s playoffs when home-field advantage is virtually nonexistent, the Predators are exceptionally prone to losing in their house. Also via ESPN.com, “The Predators have dropped four of their last six postseason games at Bridgestone Arena, totaling four goals in the defeats and getting shut out twice.”
Fans in Music City are taking notice of that trend and were not scared to voice their opinions when they booed loudley in Nashville’s Game Four loss to the Ducks this past Saturday. Despite what it may feel like in the moment, the fans should boo to let the players know how much they care.
The least the Predators can do tonight is to give their fans a show tonight and something to celebrate on Lower Broadway.
