At Wednesday night’s NHL Awards in Las Vegas, Predators goalie Pekka Rinne became the first player in franchise history to win a performance-based league award when he won the Vezina Trophy. Rinne helped lead the Predators to their first-ever Presidents’ Trophy with the best season of his career, posting 42 wins and a 2.31 goals-against average in 59 games. This was the fourth time Rinne was nominated for the Vezina, given to the NHL’s top goaltender. It is his first career Vezina Trophy.
