The hockey world is rocking going into free agency and David Poile has once again proved that he is not afraid to make a statement.
In a landmark trade, the Nashville Predators have traded THE Captain, Shea Weber, to Montreal in exchange for PK Subban.
PK Subban – a 27 year old defenseman – won the 2013 Norris Trophy and was a finalist for the award in 2015, and is a two-time First-Team NHL All-Star. Subban made his international debut for Canada at the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and was a part of the gold medal winning Canadian team in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Shea Weber has served as captain of the Predators for six seasons ends his time in Nashville with 443 points over 763 games.
This is a very strong trade by Poile and the Predators – PK Subban, who is notorious for his speed, brute force, and fierce accuracy, is also younger than the aging Captain giving the Predators more years with a top defenseman.
The next question for Predators fans…who’s in line to receive the C on their jersey?
