ESPN college basketball analyst and new co-host of Keyshawn, Jay and Zubin, Jay Williams, joined Darren, Daunic & Chase, and voiced his concern for the state of college athletics as well as the new normal he envisions.
Given the uncertainty of the college football season and the Big Ten and Pac-12 canceling their seasons and moving to the spring, Williams poses the idea of a mess in the transfer portal. Williams adds “You’re going to see unprecedented waivers to transfer and what will these individual conferences do?”
One of the biggest examples in college football will be the case of Ohio State QB Justin Fields. With his season cancelled, would he be allowed to transfer or would players of that caliber elect to stay home and train for the draft?
“Justin Fields, prime example. Got out of Georgia, and now finds himself at Ohio State and was set to have an incredible year…these are the scenarios that occur.”
