The Tennessee Titans and veteran free agent safety Quandre Diggs have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday.
With the move, the team reunites Diggs with former teammate Jamal Adams in Nashville. The secondary duo spent four seasons together in Seattle (2020-2023).
The Titans have had multiple conversations with Diggs’ camp as the team’s first offer came before they acquired Adams on July 11, according to ESPN NFL Nation reporter Turron Davenport. General Manager Ran Carthon remained persistent in talks with Diggs and ultimately got the deal signed.
Diggs racked up a career-high 95 tackles last season and has totaled 345 in his 72 games as a Seahawk. The safety was also designated to three straight pro bowls (2020-2022) while hauling in 18 interceptions during his stint with the team.
Prior to his five seasons in Seattle, Diggs was a sixth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2015 posting 235 tackles in 65 games. The veteran was acquired by the Seahawks via trade with the Lions after the 2019 season.
The Titans and Carthon have shown a desire to completely revamp the defensive side of the ball bringing in key free agents L’Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, Kenneth Murray, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Diggs, and Adams.
This new defense will be on display when the team begins preseason play on Aug. 10 at home versus the San Francisco 49ers.
