‘THE GREG POGUE & DARREN McFARLAND SHOW’ STARTS MONDAY; METRO GAME OF WEEK & PREP FOOTBALL TALK RETURN
NASHVILLE – Pogue Media Inc. and Cromwell Media have announced a new daily sports talk show – The Greg Pogue & Darren McFarland Show – will air weekdays from 10 a.m.-noon on ESPN Radio 94.9 The Fan starting Monday.
Also announced is the second season of the Metro Nashville Public Schools High School Game of the Week to air on Friday nights through Nov. 6 on 102.5 The Game. The first game of the season is Friday with Pearl-Cohn playing host to Montgomery Bell Academy. The complete schedule is listed below.
Plus, the 15th season of Prep Football Talk presented by Freeman Webb returned this past Saturday with Pogue, show co-founder Craig Ladd and Meto Schools football coaching legend Bubba Spears as hosts. It airs each Saturday morning at 9 through November on ESPN Radio 94.9 The Fan from Roy’s Meat Service in East Nashville. That show is followed on the same station at 10 a.m. by One on One with Greg Pogue.
The Greg Pogue & Darren McFarland Show pairs two Nashville sports broadcasting and communications veterans working on the same show together for the first time. The presenting title sponsor of the show is Strike & Spare Family Fun Centers.
“I am personally excited to have two of my mentors back with us in the Cromwell family,” said Chase McCabe, Director of Operations and Sports Programming for Cromwell Nashville. “They have done a lot for me and for this market and are truly two legends. To add Greg and Darren to our local sports talk show line up on ESPN 94.9 The Fan as well as our great lineup on ESPN 102.5 The Game is a huge win for us.”
Pogue is Chief Operating Officer and Partner of the Nashville Kats, who recently won the Arena Football One (AF1) league championship. Named the AF1 Executive of the Year in 2025, Pogue will continue to handle play-by-play duties for Tennessee State football and Middle Tennessee State women’s basketball. He has been inducted into three halls-of-fame, including the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Hall of Fame.
McFarland began his Nashville sports talk career in 1998 and has hosted various daily shows over the years. He also served as pre-game and postgame host on the Nashville Predators Radio Network for a decade. In 2011, McFarland was host of the first daily sports talk show on 102.5 The Game, which will celebrate its 15th Anniversary on Aug. 29. He is currently a Licensed Agent at Monte King State Farm Insurance in Smyrna.
The Greg Pogue & Darren McFarland Show joins The George Plaster Show as original daily local live sports talk programming on ESPN Radio 94.9 The Fan. That show airs from 3-5 p.m. daily and features former MTSU and NFL quarterback Kelly Holcomb.
