ESPN 102.5 The Game will celebrate its 10th anniversary as a sports-talk radio station throughout this week with an assortment of ticket giveaways for listeners and a live broadcast at Neighbors Germantown from 10AM-6PM on Friday, Aug. 27.
“This has been an incredible first decade as a sport talk station and our entire team is extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said Program Director Ryan Porth. “We’re going to spend the whole week celebrating and rewarding our fans for always being there for us.”
Ticket giveaways will include upcoming sporting events for the Nashville Predators, Nashville Soccer Club, Nashville Sounds and MTSU Football, as well as concerts featuring Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones and the Zac Brown Band. The week-long festivities will culminate Friday, Aug. 27, with a live broadcast from Neighbors Germantown beginning at 10AM with “Darren, Daunic & Chase” followed by “Stillman & Company” in afternoon drive. There will be surprise appearances from special on-site guests throughout the day.
ESPN 102.5 The Game was launched on Aug. 29, 2011, when Darren McFarland and former Tennessee Titans left tackle Brad Hopkins hosted “The First Quarter.” Since then 102.5 The Game has become the flagship radio station of the Nashville Predators, Nashville Soccer Club, the Nashville Sounds as well as Vanderbilt and MTSU men’s football and basketball. It has also been the home for ESPN Radio in Nashville since fall of 2011.
“Ten years ago we decided to start a sports station. We thought we could make a difference to Nashville and we wanted to support the Nashville Predators, the Sports Council, the Titans and local teams. We’ve had some wonderful people work with us over these ten years and they made us better,” said Cromwell Media owner Bud Walters. “Happy 10th Anniversary to Nashville’s Best Sports Talk, 102.5 The Game.”
