Serena begins US Open run with win over Kovinic

Six-time US Open champion Serena Williams defeated 80th-ranked Danka Kovinic 6-3, 6-3 at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday night, opening what could be her last tournament with authority in New York in front of family, friends and celebrities galore.
